THE FOUNDATION
The foundation course is an intensive 2-day class that will cover the basics in floristry. This course is recommended for any flower enthusiasts who want to learn various floristry techniques and experience two days as a full time florist from conditioning the blooms until finishing off the arrangement as well as finding the tools and resources for your own use.
Begin the first day of your floral journey starting from flower introduction, how to choose the best blooms, detailed floral characteristics, followed by experience hands-on conditioning.
After that you will learn about color theory while exploring colorful floral selections from the flower bar, as well as tips on choosing suitable color palettes.
Followed by assembling your own hand-tied bouquet using spiral technique. The next stage of the course is to learn an arrangement with floral foam, in this section, you will learn the pros and cons of using the foam and how it affects your overall design. We will end the first day to learn about cost and budgeting.
On the second day, you will be tried in making playful arrangements using chicken wire. This method was introduced long before floral foams exist but due to the rise of environmental awareness from floral designers around the world, the art of chicken wires is making remarkable comeback. After that, you will learn another flower arranging mechanics to work with clear glass vase. The final challenge in your agenda is to craft a complete bouquet on a given budget.
To seal the end of your floral passage, you are welcome to take home any remaining flowers from the classes.
Over the two days, you will create five natural style arrangements. Lunch, tools and materials provided throughout the class.
